Lovin' Lillypilly

I just love these flat tiles from Lillypilly Designs. I added a mix of blue and green glass beads and used a headpin with a ball tip to make the ear hook.

(an older necklace I want to share)
I made this large polymer clay bead a while ago and added black matte and shiny seed beads in an asymmetrical design. One strand going into the large bead, four strands coming out the other side. Silver bead caps on either side of polymer bead and silver clasp.

Velvety Grey & Pink

These grey flocked beads are on a magenta organza ribbon, knotted several times between each bead (with silver lobster claw clasp).

I also bought the same flocked beads in red for a holiday necklace and black ones for an evening look.

Blue Glass & Quartz Necklace

I love the contrast of heavy, large beautiful beads on a thin silver wire. When wearing this piece, at first glance it looks as though the beads are floating.

And a lovely clasp to finish it off.

Here's the latest one with the recycled blue glass and some white glass wafers I found at Michael's. I used the wire swirls to connect the wrapped loops that are in each of the beads. Once I ran out of the white beads I called it done and added the silver chain. One more recycled blue bead is used at the clasp. The earrings were an afterthought, but I like how they work with the necklace.

Here's the first one I did with the recycled glass beads from the Denver Bead Show. I think it's kind of elegant and earthy at the same time. I love the silver findings with the roughness of the recycled glass.

Blue purse

This purse has LOTS of stability, it is like a piece of luggage in its ridigity. I love the color and it does stand up all by itself. I need to find a happy medium and have a different pattern in mind for the next try.

I like the ocean life fabric interior, it won't show dirt real soon; however, it is easy to lose things in there.

Tan purse

So I can't stop at doing just beads, I have the sewing bug too! I haven't been able to find a purse that I really like so I decided to make one that had lots of pockets, because I like to have everything in its place. This pattern is great once it is finished, but the instructions were somewhat confusing. I have made two of these now and the intstructions haven't gotten any eaiser to follow. I love the color and the feel of this purse, but there isn't any stablizer in this one, so it tends to flop around. (Mom, note the music fabric in the interior!)

Polymer clay bead 1

Okay, here's another avenue to explore: polymer clay. This is one of the first beads that I made using polymer clay. One of my Sangria Sisters has the pink ones that I experimented with the very first time! I am not sure how I will use this one, it may have to sit in the bead box and age a bit before I figure out how to use it. An idea will come . . . .

Copper rings

Just received these copper rings from the artist that created them. I am having doubts about my original idea using organza ribbon. I'll post the results after I have had some time to play with them. They are so cool and I know the artist that made them to boot!!!!!

Two Hearts Necklace

The necklace dangles in this set orignally started out as a pair of earrings that I was asked to make a necklace to match. As I did not have more of the brown hearts, I decided to make the hearts the focal point of the necklace and make new earrings instead. The necklace features chocolate brown seed beads, blush pearl round beads and a very light tan crackle bead. I am excited to see the set on my new friend!

Specks of Color Lariat

This necklace was created for a new friend. She chose the earrings a couple of months ago and just recently asked for a necklace to match. I have been holding onto the golden yellow glass beads wondering what I was going to do with them and the answer came to me when she asked for a necklace. The golden yellow beads have small specks of yellow, blue, orange, brown and green. I used brown rubber beads on either side of the golden yellow glass beads and blue, brown and green fauceted beads in between each set of gold/brown. The lariat necklace has been in my idea book for some time and I was glad that I could use the idea with these beads. I hope that she likes it!

Purple Stones

This necklace is the result of a fantastic girls-only weekend to celebrate one of the Sangria Sisters birthdays! We enjoyed a trip to the big city and a bead show! I found these wonderful purple chicklet stones and darker purple round beads that I paired with smoky gray faceted beads. It was oh so fun! I couldn't help myself and just had to adde silver spacer beads on either side of the purple stones. I've included a closeup shot for better detail.

Copper Leaf Necklace

This necklance and earring set was created for a friend in exchange for some incredibly lovely copper rings that I will post later. The stones do not show well in this photo. They are brown with orange hues swirled throughout. The orange seed beads surrounded by copper spacers really pick up the color of the brown stones and the copper leaf. The set turned out very well.

Peyote Stitch 1

This piece is was created with turquoise and burnt orange size 11 seed beads in a peyote stitch, then capped with filled-silver bead caps and connected to a filled-silver chain. I have great fun using peyote stitch and using up some random beads.

Big Fat Crystals!

I am currently in love with medium to large, usually fake/plastic, crystals. These were probably intended for a chandelier, but I love how they sparkle when I wear them! (small necklace with silver claw clasp and chain; large necklace with my handmade, hammered sterling silver hook clasp - big to go with the beads).
